Eva Christopher practiced as a partner with Code Hunter (now Gowlings) in Calgary, Alberta until 1989. She joined Whitelaw Twining in 1990.
Eva's practice focuses on bodily injury cases, including numerous claims involving infants. Eva has particular experience in the defence of catastrophic bodily injury claims and is a lecturer in this field. She has successfully defended a complex catastrophic bodily injury case before a jury, resulting in a dismissal of the action.
In addition, Eva's practice includes the defence of wrongful death claims, medical malpractice cases for B.C. hospitals and private clinics, commercial and social host liability cases, sports injury cases, product liability cases, sexual abuse cases, motor vehicle liability cases, and the defence of major trucking firms and highway maintenance contractors.
Eva has appeared frequently before the Supreme Court of British Columbia, as well as the Supreme Court of Alberta. Her practice regularly involves alternative dispute resolution and she has extensive experience in mediation.
Eva is the firm's primary contact with several insurance company clients for whom she frequently presents seminars and lectures. Whitelaw Twining is the main provider of legal services in British Columbia for some of those clients.
