Profile

Ann Howell is an associate lawyer at Whitelaw Twining. Ann obtained her first law degree in South Africa and after moving to Canada, graduated with a second law degree from the University of British Columbia. Ann was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2005.

Ann has several years experience as both a plaintiff and a defence lawyer. Her practice focuses on bodily injury claims and medical malpractice with a particular emphasis on paediatric cases. She has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia and has appeared before the Supreme Court of Saskatchewan. Her legal experience has included wrongful death claims, catastrophic brain and spinal injuries, birth injuries product liability claims and class actions.

Ann has been a regular participant in the "Law and Medicine" program conducted through the Faculty of Medicine at UBC, where she has tutored medical students on issues relating to law and ethics. She also acts as a clinician for the Salvation Army Pro Bono program.
