Margaret Mackie joined Whitelaw Twining in 2010 after completing her articles at a large Vancouver law firm. Margaret practices in the area of general insurance defence litigation, with a focus on bodily injury and property damage claims. She has appeared on behalf of clients in British Columbia Provincial Court and in Supreme Court Chambers. Margaret has also assisted senior counsel on matters before British Columbia Supreme Court and a variety of administrative tribunals.
While attending law school, Margaret participated in Judge McGivern’s Criminal Clinic where she represented clients on various criminal matters in Provincial Court. She also participated in the Peter Burns Moot Trial Competition where she represented the defendant in a mock jury trial. Margaret was also active in the law school community including co-ordinating an Environmental Negotiation Competition and assisting with the Law Review.

Margaret is an avid rock climber (indoors and outdoors), including both sport and multi-pitch traditional climbing. Her goal is to climb The Chief in the near future. Margaret also has a passion for water and was a lifeguard and national level synchronized swimmer before becoming a lawyer.
