David Plunkett practices in the area of products liability, construction, surety, professional liability defence and corporate/commercial litigation. He is also experienced in advising on and litigating employment related disputes. David has appeared as counsel before all levels of court in British Columbia.

David heads the Construction Law Group at Whitelaw Twining. He provides advice to construction clients and handles construction disputes including builders lien matters, tendering issues and contractual interpretation disputes. This also involves handling claims for large engineering clients on product liability and project failure events.

David’s practice also focuses on professional liability defence. He has defended numerous professional liability claims against architects, engineers, corporate directors, real estate agents, land surveyors and home inspectors.

David is actively involved in associations related to his practice. He is the past Chair of the British Columbia Construction Law section of the Canadian Bar Association, he is a member of the BC Construction Roundtable, and the Surety Association of Canada. He has written articles and presented seminars on construction law, construction insurance matters, and professional liability issues.
