John Vamplew was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1995, and the bar of the Northwest Territories in 2002. John's practice focuses on general insurance litigation and providing coverage advice to insurers. His particular areas of experience include:
advising insurers on coverage obligations under all types of policies including CGL, Comprehensive Homeowners, Boiler & Machinery, E&O, Life, Accident and Disability;
acting for insurers with respect to insurance coverage litigation;
acting for defendants in professional negligence claims, with particular emphasis on claims against those involved in the health care industry;
acting for defendants in property damage and casualty claims, with particular emphasis on fire losses, product liability, occupier liability and construction deficiency claims;
acting for insurers on subrogated claims.
John has written and contributed to a variety of articles on all aspects of insurance law. He frequently presents seminars for clients and professional and industry groups on topics involving insurance and litigation issues. He is also a guest instructor on the topic of civil litigation at the BC Professional Legal Training Course.
