For the past 30 years Whitelaw Twining has represented clients from all sectors of the construction industry in a broad range of construction-related matters.
We have found that the traditional manner of resolving construction disputes has not always been particularly successful, as clients are often burdened with demands of lengthy and costly pre-trial procedures and document production. Whitelaw Twining works to first identify the objective of its construction clients. Often, the goal is simply to keep a construction project on track while dealing with inevitable difficulties as they arise. At other times, a client requires strong representation in the face of unreasonable demands.
We have developed a flexible and client-centred approach to address these issues. We work closely with our clients, who include owners, developers, insurers, sureties, general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, architects, engineers and other design professionals, to find creative and innovative solutions to their construction-related issues.
We are actively involved in a number of professional and industry associations including the Canadian Bar Association – Construction Law Section, the Vancouver Regional Construction Association, the British Columbia Construction Roundtable and the Surety Association of Canada. In addition, we have developed a network of expert witnesses and consultants to provide assistance in resolving our clients’ matters.
